Museo di storia naturale at Belgiojoso Palace
Discover the nature of Lecco’s territory and the scientific culture of the 19th century
The Natural History Museum (museo storia naturale) of Lecco is placed at Belgiojoso Palace and offers you the possibility to discover Lecco’s territory and the scientific culture of the 19th century.
It hosts different rooms with:
- local fauna and some animals specimen of Europe and other continents: collections of birds, mammals, fishes, reptiles, amphibious and insects;
- mineralogical, malacological and paleontological collections:
- a room completely dedicated to Lariosauro, a water reptile who lived Lario’s area in the Triassic.
Entrance to the garden of Palazzo Belgiojoso is free. The museum ticket allows to visit the Archaeological Museum and Historical Museum here in, except the Planetarium.
Thanks to the cumulative ticket of the Museum System of Lecco, you can visit Villa Manzoni and Palazzo delle Paure too.

Museo di storia naturale / Opening times 2022
- Monday closed
- Tuesday to Friday / from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday / from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Closure of all poles: January 1st, Easter, May 1st, December 25th – 26th
Opening: Easter Monday and Monday 25 April
NOTE – GREEN PASS NECESSARY – From 6 August 2021 to access all the museum centers and exhibition halls of the system (Villa Manzoni, Palazzo delle Paure, Palazzo Belgiojoso and Torre Viscontea) – (Decree-law of 23 July 2021 no. 105).
At the same time, the previous foreseen prevention regulations remain valid, such as spacing and the obligatory mask for indoor places.
