Neoclassic style by its local architect Giuseppe Bovara and marvelous stuccoes inside. Great bill every year
The Theatre of Society is placed in Lecco’s downtown in Piazza Garibaldi. It was designed by the local architect Giuseppe Bovara and was inaugurated on 23 October 1844 with “Anna Bolena” by Gaetano Donizzetti.
The theatre has the typical Neoclassical style and was built by the will of some Lecco’s families, being part of the nobility and upper middle class, but it was immediately open to all the citizens and the gods was built for them in order they can enjoy shows thus avoiding to wander in the night.
The theatre inside hosts a beautiful fresco on its vault by the contemporary artist Orlando Sora.
It host 460 persons totally.
