Bellagio – Como
Discovering Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio
History and its terraced gardens overlooking Lake Como
Villa Serbelloni is one of the several villas mirroring into Lake Como, with its great park extending on the promontory of Bellagio.
Count Serbelloni liked to have trails open to vehicles, avenues and paths for almost 18 kilometers inside its park. You can walk in a lush park where you can see cypresses, olive trees, hedges shaping the terraces, geometric flowerbeds and subtropical species.
From here you can enjoy the spectacular view on the Lake Como and its two branches: a panorama of extraordinary beauty.
Villa Serbelloni at the end of the 19th century, at its owner’s death, was transformed into a hotel and the complex was later bought by the American Ella Walker, who lived in till her death. She donated it to Rockefeller Foundation of New York, nowadays the owner and managing institution.
Just its park is open to public from March to November joining a guide tour.
