Montevecchia
Woods, vineyards, corn fields. Nature but not only: churches, farmsteads. Here you are the cycle-pedestrian route of Montevecchia and Curone Valley Park.
This itinerary lets you experience the nature of Montevecchia and Curone Valley Park: woods, vineyards of Terre Lariane IGT wines and corn fields. The Curone Valley Park certainly represents a very interesting area under an environmental and naturalistic point of view, but also offers a great cultural heritage thanks to the many churches in, among which the Sanctuary of Beata Vergine del Carmelo at the top of Montevecchia’s hill.
Another typical feature of this area is the presence of many farmsteads, still lived in and often productive places such as breeding, farming and vine-yarding.
Your eyes cross rows of cypress trees which enrich the dirt roads driving to the farmsteads.
You can experience the Montevecchia and Curone Valley Park both riding a bike or on foot. The path’s bottom is mixed: dirt, grassy, staircase of trunks and a part covered by the prestigious of travertine.
The itinerary presents ups and downs which makes the path interesting and not boring, until you reach the part of the rising to Montevecchia. The park is easily accessible using the train line Lecco-Milano with stop at Cernusco Lombardone (from the station take via Vittorio Emanuele II in front of you, walk along to the round, then turn left into Viale Europa and here you are on the itinerary suggested).
