Lecco
From the parking are of Erna cableway, an easy excursion to Campo de Boi. Suitable for families with children.
This excursion to Campo de Boi on the foot of Mount Resegone is the classic one that reminds us of our childhood. it’s really an easy path for everyone, even for younger children.
Except for some short sections it is a shady path, so you can take when you like in sunny days. We recommend avoiding the summer sultry days in the afternoon, because the difference in altitude is not so much and then you feel the heat wave.
Campo de Boi is accessible from different places. Here we tell you about the path starting from the parking area of Erna cableway.
You get here by car following the brown sign “Funivia Erna” from viale Montegrappa or otherwise by bus taking line 5.

Itinerary description
From the parking area walk on the right side of the cableway and go downhill. You walk into the woods for a short part, follow the yellow sign “all directions.” In few minutes you are out on the asphalt road. Turn right and continue to the starting point of path n. 1 path (red/white/ yellow sign).
The path is a bit steep for the first part (about 10-15 minutes) until you reach the fork where on the right indicates “Campo de Boi”.
Take this path on your right, almost flat and completely shaded.
After ten minute you cross a wooden bridge and soon after begins the only steep part: the big steps that take us back in two minutes on a flat level.
We are close to our destination. The path gets wider, we meet some houses until to reach the gate that opens onto a large lawn. Here is a college used in the past as a summer colony and an inn, now closed. From its garden terrace (public open) you can enjoy beautiful views of Lecco, lake Como, Monte Barro and Moregallo.
You can stand on the grass and have a picnic. Children can freely play.
Always remember to take home your own waste.
From Campo de Boi you can reach the top of Mount Magnodeno, Stoppani refuge and Passo del Fò.
