San Siro – Como
Rezzonico is a small village overlooking Lake Como. Close to the famous lake town of Menaggio, Rezzonico is ideal for slow tourism lovers.
Rezzonico is a small village on the western shore of Lake Como, on the slopes of Mount Bregagno, not far from Menaggio.
It welcomes visitors with its historic group of houses huddled together, intersected by narrow and steep streets with arches and arcades. Rezzonico tells us about his past as an important fortified village, of which is still visible today its fourteenth century castle.
The roots of Rezzonico, nowadays part of the municipality of San Siro, lie in Roman times: a testimony is given by the discovery of a plaque dedicated to the god Neptune.
Here you can also enjoy relaxing on its small pebble and uncrowded beaches, representing places where you can enjoy lake Como and surrounding mountains without any noise. Rezzonico is slow tourism. Walking along the lakefront promenade, you can reach the close villages of Santa Maria and Acquaseria.
Rezzonico is also an ideal starting point for hiking and mountain biking along the Via dei Monti Lariani and toward the ridge of Bregagno.
It is located in a privileged area to visit the nearby Villa Carlotta and Villa Balbianello on the same side, or take the ferry from Menaggio and move to the other side and visit the other beautiful towns overlooking Lake Como and the nearby Piona Abbey in Colico.
