Consonno in Olginate from the games’ to the ghost town. A memory of a sparkling past when Consonno was the Las Vegas of Brianza.
Consonno, upper district of Olginate, is a town to be visited and experienced. You may feel different emotions at the same time.
From being the games’ town to become a ghost one with its disputed appeal. The economic boom of sixties and the megalomania of the owner Count Bagno made of Consonno the small Las Vegas of Brianza, mixing architectural elements of different origins: a minaret with stores in Arab style, medieval cannons and soldiers like sentinels, card-rooms and dance halls, Egyptian sphinxs, Chinese pagodas, Doric columns of the “Grand Hotel Plaza”.
A sparkling melting pot became a ghost town over the years, whose splendor is just a faraway memory.
